The tournament received a Legacy Line Grant through the Pro Circuit Department and the Community Development Department of the USTA to paint permanent QuickStart Lines on two courts at the host facility---Tanoan Country Club. During the two Kids' Days held at the Coleman approximately 600 elementary children were bused to Tanoan Country Club for a fun field trip to learn about tennis and try the new QuickStart format. The attached picture shows the elementary school children asking questions and hearing from Dr. Stephen Coleman, title sponsor, about the opportunities available to them through tennis and education. In addition to the two Kids' Days, 125+ middle school students received a clinic by a few of the young professionals, and some of NNM's outstanding young juniors acted as ball kids for the professionals' matches, played in a Jr Pro-Am with the touring pros, and were selected to participate in a High Performance Clinic with some of our area's outstanding players and professionals. Rio Rancho's Girls' High School Team, with coach Nick Morris, also supported this year's ColemanVision by helping on court with Kid's Day. In addition to Tanoan Country Club, who hosted the event, the Tennis Club of Albuquerque, Highpoint Sports & Wellness, Lynch Parkes Tennis Academy and Shellaberger Tennis Center helped sponsor the High Performance Clinic and the happy hour associated with the Rally for the Cure. The Rally for the Cure, co-sponsored by the NMYTF and the La Cueva Girls' Tennis team with coach Wendy Thomas, helped raise over $1,000 for the New Mexico Youth Tennis Foundation as well as for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Societies. </p> <p>All funds raised through the Coleman will be used to support the USTA NNMTA after school tennis programs supported by the NM Youth Tennis Foundation. The NMYTF helps provide prizes, stipends, racquets and balls for the programs. One of the programs supported is the USTA NNMTA's Governor's Cup Mid-School Tennis Championships, whose 2010 End of Season Tournament was held in Albuquerque 10/16 and 10/17. A record 54 teams with well over 625 6th-8th grade students representing public and private schools from Las Cruces, Belen, Los Alamos, Santa Fe and the Albuquerque Metro area participated in this year's Mid-School Tournament. An all time high of four schools from Las Cruces participated.
